The botanicals within every Luyana formulation have often travelled thousands of kilometres before reaching your hands. Hand-harvested across sub-Saharan Africa and formulated in Copenhagen, they deserve vessels chosen with the same care and intention.

For most of our collection, that vessel is amber glass. Timeless, substantial, and enduring, it protects the integrity of the formulation while inviting a more considered relationship with what it contains. Glass asks to be cared for. To be kept. To be returned to again and again as part of a daily ritual.

Every vessel serves the same purpose: to honour and protect the botanicals entrusted to it.

For products designed to travel more easily through everyday life, including our lip butters and Ivory Whip Body Butter, we chose aluminum. Lightweight yet durable, it offers practical protection without compromising the experience of the ritual itself. Whether tucked into a handbag, carried on a journey, or shared among little hands, it was chosen with intention.

From the vessel itself to the materials that surround it, every element has been considered with the same philosophy that guides our formulations: thoughtful, purposeful, and never excessive. We ship using packing peanuts made entirely from plant-based starches — wheat and cornstarch — rather than conventional foam.

When your order arrives, any packing peanuts can be dissolved in water at home — they leave no residue and pose no risk to pipes or plumbing. In warmer climates, they can go directly into a compost pile.

Because care is not reserved for what is inside the bottle. It extends to every detail of the journey.
