As daughters of African immigrants growing up in the United States, our journey is woven with threads of heritage, resilience, and an enduring love for natural skincare. Our mother was our first guide, sharing ancestral knowledge of timeless ingredients like marula oil, shea butter, baobab oil, and African black soap—treasures that had nurtured generations before us.

But the 90s painted a different picture. Access to these rich, botanical wonders was limited, replaced by mass-market staples like Palmer's cocoa butter and Vaseline. The glossy allure of magazines like Teen Vogue and Cosmopolitan introduced us to the beauty trends of the era—chemical-laden products that promised perfection yet strayed far from our roots.

Years later, our path led us to Denmark, a place that brought both Scandinavian simplicity and profound change. It was here, during a routine medical checkup, that we faced a sobering reality: the discovery of multiple benign tumors. This moment reshaped our understanding of wellness, forcing us to confront the toxins we had unknowingly invited into our lives.

Through meticulous research, we uncovered a startling truth: the average woman is exposed to hundreds of chemicals daily, many linked to health risks like reproductive disorders and cancer. Determined to safeguard ourselves and our young children, we sought a better way—one rooted in transparency, purity, and purpose. And so, Luyana Natural Skincare was born. ✨
